With the beginning of a new year and in coordination with committees and friends from other countries, we propose to start a new and steady campaign on behalf of the Cuban 5: THE 5th OF EACH MONTH FOR THE 5. 



This Wednesday January 5th, from 9AM to 5PM (Eastern Time), LETS CALL, OR SEND FAXES, OR SEND E-MAILS, OR TELEGRAMS to the WHITE HOUSE to demand President Obama free the 5 Cuban Patriots imprisoned in the United States for defending their homeland.

  The Azerbaijan Progressive Socialist Party, the Azerbaijan Public Committee for Rights of Five Cuban Heroes, and the Independent Expert Group of Azerbaijan’s Left Socialists have joined the action of the International Committee for Freedom for Cuban Five on December 10 – the International Human Rights Day. The action includes mass appeals from all over the world to the U.S. President, Barack Obama, and is being conducted from December 10 to 14, 2010 by the suggestion of the delegates from Latin America and Europe, who have come together at the VI Colloquium for freedom for the five fighters against terrorism in Olguin, Cuba.

The Cuban 5 Present at Labor Conference in Tijuana, Mexico 
On December 3rd, a few miles away from the US - Mexico Border, a large audience gathered to welcome a delegation from Cuba who had traveled to Tijuana to participate in the VII U.S. /Cuba/Venezuela/Latin America Labor Conference. 

The youngest of the delegation of 5 women was Ail? Laba?ino, daughter of Ramon Laba?ino Salazar, one of the Cuban 5 political prisoners held in US prisons. He is serving 30 years in a federal penitentiary in Jesup, Georgia.

Ail? was a young girl when her father was arrested in Miami in 1998. Today, along with other family members of the Cuban 5, she travels around the world to speak at public events such as the one in Tijuana. Her personal story and the truth about the case of the Cuban 5 is one that is not featured in the corporate media.

VI International Colloquium for the Freedom of the Five Heroes and against Terrorism 
More than 350 Delegates from 56 Countries Gather in the City of Holguнn from November 18 to 22 for the VI International Colloquium for the Freedom of the Cuban 5
In a broad display of support for the Cuban 5, over 350 delegates from five continents converged in the eastern city of Holguin, Cuba, for the 6th International Colloquium. The largest delegation came from the United States, the country that has imprisoned the 5 heroes for more than 12 years. A large room at the Expo-Holguнn convention center welcomed the delegates for the three day conference. Along with informational literature tables, the hall had a large display of 13 panels summarizing the injustice of the case of the Cuban 5 and demanding their freedom. Attending the events were the mothers, wives and other family members of the Cuban 5 and family members of the victims of the 1976 Cubana airliner that was blown up over Barbados by Miami based terrorists. Also attending was Carlos Muсiz Pйrez, son of Carlos Muсiz Varela, a Cuban youth assassinated in Puerto Rico on April 28, 1979.

Tonight Cuban television, through Cubavision and Cubavision Internacional, will broadcast at 8:30 pm local time the first segment of statements made by international terrorist Francisco ChАvez Abarca. On Tuesday at the same time it will broadcast the 2nd segment.

At 10:45 am on September 7, we were shocked by a message from our fraternal friends at IFCO/Pastors for Peace. We had to read it several times. How could it be possible that Rev. Lucius Walker had just died? We felt a profound sadness in not being able to say goodbye to him; a deep pain just to think that we will never again enjoy his presence, talk to him as friends and comrades, to embrace each other, to share a breakfast with peanut butter, "the food of the Gods" as he called it.

This September 12th will mark the twelfth anniversary of the unjust imprisonment of Gerardo Hernandez, RamСn LabaЯino, RenИ Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, our five brothers who are political prisoners in the United States for fighting against terrorism.

Far behind the ocean there is the Legal State – the same which in the Community of independent states (former USSR countries) have not being build for 19 years in any way. In such a way we are assured already for two decades by domestic «democrats». More correct to say, servants of «democracy» of the USA. We will look, however, as human rights are observed in this «blessed» country. Concretely – citizen of Cuba Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo.

Under the theme "Weaving Movements Together," a benefit concert honoring the 80th birthday of long time civil rights activist Dolores Huerta took place on Friday, August 13th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, California. Her idea for the celebratory event was to build a space that would make available a progressive agenda.
